About the Event

Swim in a 25m pool. Australian exit every 750 m. Three laps on the road bike. One final 5 km run. The SC Bütgenbach Triathlon Sprint returns to the Worriken pool in Bütgenbach, East Belgium, on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Individual and relay categories. Drafting prohibited (WTRI rules). A SyméTri challenge — where your time is recalculated by age and sex to level the playing field — and part of the Bütgenbach‑Cup (three races: semi‑marathon on April 25, this triathlon, and Le Tour du Lac on July 21).

Individual Sprint Triathlon
750 m swim (2 laps, Australian exit) • 21.9 km bike (3 laps) • 5 km run
9:30 AM mass start • Age 16+ (15 for relay members)

Relay Teams (2 or 3 persons)
Each member completes one or two disciplines • Male, female, mixed categories

Location & Venue:

Worriken swimming pool, Bütgenbach (East Cantons of Belgium, near the German border)
Parking, changing rooms, and showers on site
Bike course on closed or controlled roads around the Bütgenbach Lake (Lake of Bütgenbach / Lac de Bütgenbach)
Run course along the lake shore and through the surrounding forest trails
Start/finish area at the pool

Rankings & Prizes:

SyméTri Challenge — single mixed overall ranking where each athlete's time is recalculated by age and sex. Top 10 receive cash prizes. The goal: put all participants on an equal footing.
Scratch — top 3 women and top 3 men receive material prizes.
Age categories — U18, U20, seniors, masters (LF3 age group prizes).
Relay — material prizes for winning relay teams (male, female, mixed).
Bütgenbach‑Cup — for participants who complete all three races (April 25 semi‑marathon, this triathlon, July 21 Tour du Lac).
Qualifying — sprint distance qualifies for 2027 European and World Championships (age group categories).

Registration & Pricing (EUR):

Individual with license — €35 (until April 14) / €40 (April 15 – June 11)
Individual without license — €45 / €50
Relay team — €55 / €60 + €5 per non‑licensed member
Capacity limits: 200 individuals, 20 relay teams. No on‑site registration.
Register online by June 11, 2026.

Valid license (if licensed)
Medical certificate (less than 3 months old) for non‑licensed participants under 19 years of age — must be uploaded during registration
All participants must be in good health

Schedule:

07:30 — race material pickup opens (at the pool)
09:30 — mass start (men and women together)
12:00 — awards ceremony
