Downtown Woonsocket hosts the Tri-State Cycling Wooney Crit, an exciting and challenging criterium race that promises fast-paced action through a technical course. The route is fully closed to traffic, ensuring a safe environment for competitive cyclists. Organized by the Tri-State Cycling Club (TSCC) under USA Cycling rules, all participants must hold a valid USA Cycling license; however, one-day licenses are permitted where applicable. The race features a dynamic and fast-paced circuit, ideal for both seasoned racers and those looking to push their limits. Riders can expect a mix of technical turns and straightaways that test skills at every turn. The course is meticulously designed to provide an exhilarating experience right in the heart of Woonsocket’s vibrant downtown area. Check-in opens one hour before the first race, with staging areas ready 10 minutes prior to each start time. Fields may be held or neutralized briefly by officials for safety reasons during the event. Competitors will find themselves racing across multiple categories, including combined and separate podiums awarded based on category and Masters age groups (35+, 45+, 55+, 60+). The final category structure and start times are detailed in the race schedule available online. Chip timing ensures accurate results throughout the event. Post-race, riders can look forward to a series of podium celebrations held during the closing ceremony. However, all participants must be present to receive their awards unless otherwise approved by the race director. Additional rules include no headphones or audio devices being allowed during competition and cyclists are responsible for knowing USA Cycling regulations.
