Adult Wellbeing and Protection in Sport - Online Workshop Monday, October 5, 2026 | 18:00-21:00 GMT The Adult Wellbeing and Protection in Sport (AWPS) training is designed for coaches, leaders, volunteers, officials, and individuals responsible for managing the wellbeing and protection of adults within sports clubs or organizations. This comprehensive workshop will equip participants with essential knowledge about safeguarding practices tailored specifically to Scotland's adult sport environment. Participants can expect an engaging three-hour session that covers various aspects of adult welfare in sports settings. Topics include identifying concerns related to adult abuse, understanding legal frameworks for protecting individuals, and fostering a safe culture within clubs. The training aims to empower attendees with practical skills such as responding appropriately to disclosures and providing support to those affected by safeguarding issues. This virtual classroom experience offers flexibility while maintaining an interactive atmosphere akin to face-to-face workshops. Participants will engage in discussions, participate in small group activities led by experienced tutors, and have the opportunity to ask questions directly through live video communication tools. To prepare for this event: - Two weeks prior to the workshop date, you'll receive access details via email from Brightspace, Sportscotland's learning management system. - Ensure your device meets requirements: a computer (desktop or laptop), tablet, or compatible smartphone with stable internet connection. Recommended browsers include Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Upon completion of the session: - Participants must complete an evaluation survey on Brightspace to unlock their certificate of attendance. For technical assistance related to Brightspace access or functionality issues, support resources are readily available through the platform's help desk interface accessible upon login.
