Registration opens on February 13, 2026, for the Tunnel Marathon & Half Marathon, an unforgettable race that combines speed with stunning scenery. Known as one of the fastest marathons and half marathons in the country, this event offers a unique blend of engineering and natural beauty. Due to recent storm damage, the 2026 course will follow a fully permitted alternate route while maintaining its signature features: a steady downhill grade, approximately 1,000 feet of net elevation drop, and breathtaking views. The marathon remains certified by USATF and qualifies for Boston Marathon eligibility, having helped over 42% of participants earn their BQ in past years. Participants will start the race through the historic Snoqualmie Tunnel, an iconic moment that sets the tone for a scenic run. As runners emerge from the tunnel, they are greeted with panoramic mountain vistas, cascading waterfalls, and crisp air characteristic of Washington's lush landscape. The smooth downhill rail trail ensures a fast-paced journey, ideal for setting personal records or running your first race. The Tunnel Marathon & Half Marathon offers two races each year: Light at the End of the Tunnel on June 7th and Tunnel Vision on August 9th. A third event, Tunnel Light, takes place on September 13th. Each race promises a professional organization with top safety standards and an atmosphere that celebrates runners. Registration includes chip timing, custom bibs, finisher’s shirts and medals, post-race food and festivities, and shuttle transportation back to Hyak Sno-Park after the event concludes at Garcia Trailhead. Runners will enjoy a scenic one-mile walk down Forest Service Road 9020 before boarding shuttles for their return. Headlamps are mandatory for the run through the tunnel due to its darkness, adding an element of adventure and excitement to the race day experience. Aid stations every two to three miles provide water, electrolytes, first aid, and Honey Stinger gels at select locations to keep runners fueled throughout the course. Join us in 2026 for a run that is as fast as it is scenic, where you can find your light at the end of the tunnel.
