Turkey Trot

Join us for the exhilarating 4th Annual Grande Park Thanksgiving Day Run/Walk on Saturday, November 21, 2026. This family-friendly event takes place at Community Park within Grande Park, located at 26333 Grande Park Blvd in Plainfield, Illinois.
The day kicks off with a Kid's Fun Run starting at 8:45 AM, followed by the main 5K race beginning promptly at 9:00 AM. Participants will enjoy chip-timed races and receive an official event t-shirt guaranteed if they register before November 9th, 2026.
Entry fees are set at $40 per person and include a variety of perks such as post-race refreshments featuring a traditional turkey leg meal along with complimentary beer and beverages. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in both men's and women's categories, with exciting gifts from local sponsors like DNA Active Lifestyle Outfitters and frozen turkeys for winners.
Registration is open through race day on November 21st, but participants can secure their packets ahead of time by visiting DNA Active Lifestyle Outfitters at 24210 W. Lockport Street in downtown Plainfield between 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, November 20th or starting from 7:00 AM the morning of the race.
The event welcomes walkers and strollers alike, ensuring there's something for everyone as you enjoy scenic routes through Grande Park. The community spirit is palpable at this Thanksgiving tradition that supports Team Nicholas, a local charity dedicated to bringing comfort and joy to children facing serious illnesses.
