Two Hats One Mile

One mile. 20 minutes. Last runner standing. The Two Hats One Mile returns to Big Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Two Hats Ranch. Registration opens at 6:30 AM, race begins at 9:00 AM. 1‑mile loop with 150 ft elevation gain — woodsy trail, fast runnable sections, sandy downhill through an open field. You must be back in the starting corral ready to go when the next 20‑minute loop starts. 100‑runner limit. Proceeds benefit Montcalm/Mecosta Youth For Christ. No refunds, no rollovers.

Race Format — Last Runner Standing:

• Every loop must be completed in 20 minutes or less
• You must be in the starting corral (past the finish line, in front of the start line) when the next loop begins
• Late arrivals or incomplete loops = elimination
• Runners continue looping until only one remains
• No aid on course — you may eat, drink, rest, or change gear in your personal recoup space between loops

Declaring a Winner — The Victory Lap:

• If two runners start the last loop and one does not complete it within the time limit, the runner who completed it must then run a solo VICTORY LAP within the 20‑minute time frame to be declared winner
• If both complete the loop but only one chooses to continue, that runner must run a VICTORY LAP to be declared winner
• If the last runner cannot complete the VICTORY LAP within the time limit — no winner

Location — Two Hats Ranch, Big Rapids, MI:

• Private land, 10 minutes from downtown Big Rapids (home of Ferris State University)
• 16665 12 Mile Rd, Big Rapids, MI
• 1‑mile loop: woodsy trail conditions, 150 ft elevation gain, fast runnable sections, sandy downhill through open field
• Personal recoup space: 12x12 area near the corral (set up your chair, cooler, tent, or blanket)

What's Included:

• Runner's ID bracelet

• No finisher medal — the winner gets the title (and bragging rights)

Schedule — Saturday, June 20, 2026:

• 6:30 AM — Registration opens
• 8:30 AM — Registration closes (if you're not registered by 8:30 AM, you are disqualified)
• 9:00 AM — Race begins
• Loops continue until one runner remains and completes the Victory Lap

Children & Pets:

• No unsupervised children under 14 — children must remain within the runner's 12x12 personal space or designated spectator areas
• NO PETS allowed — no exceptions. Inform your friends, family, and crew. This is non‑negotiable.

Registration:

• Registration closed May 19, 2026 — event is limited to 100 runners
• Registration requests beyond 100 placed on a waiting list
• Organizers reserve the right to add spots at their discretion
• No refunds, no rollovers. If you cannot make the event, your registration fee will be donated to Youth For Christ

Charity Beneficiary:

• Montcalm/Mecosta Youth For Christ — a faith‑based nonprofit serving young people in west Michigan
• Proceeds from the race are donated directly to YFC programs
