The 12th Annual UF Health Jacksonville Turkey Trot is set to take place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, in the vibrant coastal town of Atlantic Beach, Florida. This iconic race offers participants a unique blend of competitive running and community spirit as it raises awareness for brain injury care. The event kicks off early with a Sensory Start at 8:10 AM, designed to cater to all runners regardless of their pace. For those looking to challenge themselves, the Competitive Wave starts at 7:30 AM with two distinct groups: one running at an 8-12 minute per mile pace and another at over 13 minutes per mile. The race itself is a 5K journey through Atlantic Beach’s picturesque landscapes, offering runners stunning ocean views and a festive atmosphere. The course winds through the coastal areas before heading towards the finish line in the heart of the town. Race packets can be picked up conveniently from November 24th to 26th at One Ocean Resort & Spa or on race day itself starting at 6 AM until 8 AM, located in the Solaria Room. Participants are encouraged to arrive early for a smooth start and to enjoy the pre-race festivities. Awards await all participants, including medals for completing the course. The awards ceremony will be held after the 1-Mile Fun Run begins, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to celebrate their participation. The event also features exciting team competitions, age group awards, and a costume contest, making it suitable for runners of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re aiming for top honors or simply enjoying the day with friends, there’s something for every runner at this community-driven race. Proceeds from the Turkey Trot support vital work in UF Health Jacksonville's Brain Wellness Program, including initiatives like the Equine Therapy program that helps patients through interactions with horses. Additionally, funds are used to purchase advanced medical equipment and training tools essential for treating traumatic brain injuries (TBI). By participating or supporting this event, you contribute directly to lifesaving care during critical stages of TBI recovery and support holistic care in your community. Join the race not just as a participant but as part of an important cause. Together, let’s make a difference in the lives of those affected by brain injuries.
