Over the past year, we’ve had dozens of one-on-one conversations with race directors about the state of trail running, where the sport is headed, and how independent events can continue to thrive. These conversations have been some of the most insightful and energizing we've had — but one-on-one only goes so far. So we’re trying something new: an in-person Race Director Summit. No panels. No sponsors. No slide decks. Just a room full of experienced race organizers, coming together for honest, collaborative conversation about what matters most right now.
The UltraSignup Race Director Summit is a single-day, in-person gathering designed to foster open dialogue and meaningful connection among independent race organizers. The day begins with breakfast at 9:00 AM, followed by informal roundtable discussions designed to surface challenges, ideas, and opportunities facing our sport. This is not a traditional conference — there’s no fixed agenda, keynote speakers, or staged presentations. Instead, the focus is on peer-driven conversation, with small-group formats that allow everyone to speak, listen, and contribute. The event will take place at the Tru by Hilton Nashville Downtown Convention Center, which is the host hotel for the U.S. Trail Running Confrence . Lunch is included, and space will be available throughout the day for breakouts, side conversations, or follow-up chats. We expect 30–50 attendees total, all experienced race directors, creating an intimate and productive environment for sharing, problem-solving, and building new connections.
Schedule: 8:00 AM – Breakfast provided 9:00 AM–12:00 PM – Round-table discussions 12:00–1:00 PM – Lunch provided 1:00–4:00 PM – Round-table discussions Around 4:00 PM – Summit concludes UltraSignup will cover breakfast, lunch, and the meeting space.
