The KÖLNPFAD is an extensive circular hiking route around Cologne, meticulously marked and maintained by the KEV (Kölner Eifel Verein). This scenic path showcases some of the city’s most beautiful spots, including the Fühlinger See, the Regattabahn, the Effzeh Stadium, parts of the Kölner Grüngürtel, a stretch along the Rhine through Rodenkirchen, and sections of the Königsforst. The route also passes by Bensberg Castle. For those seeking an ultimate challenge, the Kölnpfad UltraWandern offers three distinct options: the 171 km ultra-distance trek over 48 hours, the classic 100 km ultra-walk in under 24 hours, and a more moderate 50 km day hike or night walk. The final option is a shorter but equally scenic 35 km sunrise walk. Participants can start from various locations along the route, with all trails converging at the new base camp on Egonstraße 23 in Cologne-Stammheim for the finish line and starting point of the longest distance event. For those joining the longer routes, transportation to their respective start points is provided by bus (optional). This adventure invites hikers from all walks of life to experience the unparalleled beauty and charm that Cologne offers through its diverse landscapes and rich history. Join us at the Kölnpfad 2027 for an unforgettable journey!
