Unsanctioned Race Series

Join us on July 18 for an exhilarating race that promises to push your limits while fostering community spirit among runners of all levels. Whether you're just starting out or looking to challenge yourself, this unsanctioned race series invites everyone to embrace the journey and discover their potential.
The event kicks off at Sawnee Elementary School with a variety of course options designed for different runner preferences:
- 5 Mile Course: This scenic route takes runners along Big Creek Greenway before ascending to the Sawnee Mountain Visitors Center. The loop around the visitors center includes an ascent up a hill, circling through the parking lot, and then retracing your path back down the greenway to the finish line.
- 9 Mile Course: For those seeking more mileage, this course extends beyond the 5-mile route by adding the Indian Seats Loop trail. After reaching Sawnee Mountain Visitors Center, runners will venture onto ISL Trail, climbing up to the Summit and returning via marked trails before completing a loop back to the center and finishing at Big Creek Greenway.
- 13 Mile Course: The most challenging option offers two full loops of the 9-mile course, including scaling the summit twice. This rigorous journey showcases the beauty and diversity of Sawnee Mountain's terrain while providing an unforgettable test for advanced runners.
Participants will navigate through picturesque landscapes, crossing over bridges and private driveways along the way. While enjoying the natural surroundings, it’s crucial to remain vigilant at intersections with public roads and traffic lights, adhering strictly to crosswalk protocols.
