The Festival Foods Turkey Trot is set to bring joy and warmth this Thanksgiving season, offering an unforgettable experience for both participants and volunteers alike. This year's event promises to be a festive celebration with numerous volunteer opportunities available on Wednesday, November 25th, from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm, as well as the morning of Thanksgiving Day, from 5:30 am to 10:00 am. Volunteers can look forward to various roles that cater to their preferences. Those who enjoy outdoor activities will find the Corner Monitor position ideal for keeping an eye on participants and ensuring a smooth event flow. For those with a preference for indoor tasks, positions such as Registration, Packet Pick Up, and Pumpkin Pie Handout are available, providing valuable support both before and during the race. For volunteers choosing to work outside, there's a special perk awaiting you! As part of your commitment, you'll receive a complimentary Festival Foods Turkey Trot t-shirt. This shirt is just one way we express our gratitude for your dedication and hard work in making this event possible. To ensure a smooth volunteer experience, please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled start time to allow sufficient time for check-in, receiving your volunteer t-shirt, and getting an overview of your assigned role. On race day, the Luco Road entrance will be closed; therefore, you should enter from Scott Street and Campus Drive or University Drive and Campus Drive, with Ducharme Parkway also accessible as a secondary route. The event setting is designed to enhance the overall experience for all volunteers. The morning air on Thanksgiving Day offers a unique ambiance, while the community support creates an atmosphere of camaraderie and goodwill. Whether you're helping at Registration or monitoring corners, your contribution will play a vital role in ensuring that this Turkey Trot remains one of the highlights of the holiday season. Thank you to all who have volunteered for previous years – your efforts make these events truly special. We are excited about what this year holds and hope you'll join us once again!
