Welcome to the 2025/2026 Vessel Permit Scheme at Lake Samsonvale, Queensland's premier boating destination. This year’s scheme offers flexible options for both individual and family enthusiasts looking to explore the lake's serene waters.
For solo adventurers or families with a passion for small crafts, single vessel permits are available. These permits cater to individuals 18 years of age and older who wish to use tinies, canoes, or two-person kayaks. Families aiming to enjoy activities together in one craft—such as a canoe or kayak—are also eligible.
If you plan on bringing multiple vessels for your family trip, consider applying for the Family Multi Vessel Permit. Contact 0419 748 311 or 04 0224 7215 to inquire about this option. This permit is designed for couples with children aged between 12 and 17 years, couples without any children, or single parents accompanied by their children in the same age range.
Please note that only one vessel per visit can be accessed under a Single Vessel Permit. For families using more than one canoe or kayak, the Family Multi Vessel Permit ensures smooth entry to the lake.
Applicants must submit their application online and agree to the Lake Samsonvale Boating Access Scheme Terms and Conditions, which are detailed on our website. Understanding these rules is crucial before applying for a permit. Upon submission of your application with payment, you will receive confirmation that your permit has been issued—no separate receipts will be provided.
Fishing enthusiasts should also note that fishing at Lake Samsonvale requires an additional Stocked Impoundment Permit (SIP) from the Queensland Government's Stocked Impoundment Scheme (SIPS). This ensures sustainable and regulated fishing practices within the lake area, enhancing everyone’s experience.
