On Sunday, October 18, Vermont Youth Cycling invites all cyclists to the season finale at Craftsbury Outdoor Center. This race promises an exhilarating experience with varied terrain that includes smooth descents and challenging climbs. The course offers a mix of single-track and double-track paths for exciting passing opportunities. While specific route details will be announced closer to the event, last year’s course maps provide a glimpse into what runners can expect this time around. Members of Vermont Youth Cycling (VTYC) enjoy free registration using the coupon code "CRAFTSBURYMEMBER26." Non-members are encouraged to join the league for an entirely free experience with additional benefits or pay a $50 entry fee. Parents and supporters are invited to contribute to the festive atmosphere by bringing tents, chairs, and food. Remember to pack out any trash you generate throughout the day. The race schedule begins at 10:00 AM with the junior 1-lap event, followed by pre-ride opportunities for Category A, B, and C riders starting at 10:30 AM. The Junior Day-of Podium Ceremony will take place around noon, celebrating young racers’ achievements. At approximately 11:30 AM, Category B cyclists will start their two-lap race, with the single-lap Category C event commencing shortly thereafter at 12:40 PM. Category A riders are scheduled to kick off their three-lap race around noon as well. The day concludes by 2:00 PM with podium ceremonies for all categories and a team awards ceremony, offering a chance to celebrate the entire season's efforts. Participants can pre-ride the course on Sunday morning from 8:30 AM until 9:45 AM. Volunteers are needed to ensure smooth operations; sign up here if you’re interested in helping out. Independent riders are welcome! If you're not part of a team, register as an 'Independent' and join us for some fun racing. Bring your youngest racers below fifth grade, too – there will be plenty of exciting races to enjoy!
