Watertown Area Fun Run

Watertown's DASH program, in partnership with Watertown Park & Rec, invites young athletes aged 5 to 12 for an exciting evening filled with track and field activities at the Watertown Athletic Complex. This free event is designed specifically for youth, offering a range of running events and field games that cater to different age groups.
Participants can compete in four distinct divisions: 5-6 years old, 7-8 years old, 9-10 years old, and 11-12 years old. Each division will race through various distances including the 50-meter dash, 400-meter run, 200-meter sprint, 100-meter dash, and an 800-meter endurance event. The races are scheduled to start at 6:00 pm with the youngest girls leading off, followed by their male counterparts, then progressing in age order.
In addition to track events, kids can participate in field games like softball throw, long jump, sit-ups, and push-ups from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm. These activities are open for as many attempts as desired within the designated time frame.
All participants will receive a participation award upon completion of their races or field events. Medals will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners in each age division during the evening, adding an extra layer of excitement and recognition for young competitors.
Families are encouraged to cheer on their little athletes as they compete under the lights at Watertown Athletic Complex located at 1013 Third Avenue NE. Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the event, allowing spectators to enjoy refreshments while supporting their children's efforts.
Pre-registration is highly recommended but not mandatory; it helps streamline check-in on the day of the race and ensures a smooth start time for all participants. The registration desk opens at 5:00 pm with events kicking off promptly at 6:00 pm, marking the beginning of an unforgettable night filled with fun, friendly competition, and community spirit.
