The annual West Coast MX State Series 2026 promises an exhilarating motocross experience for riders across various skill levels and age groups, spanning from June to September at five strategic locations around Western Australia. Each round offers unique terrain challenges and scenic landscapes that will test the limits of both novice and seasoned racers. The series kicks off on Sunday, 28th June in Jurien Bay with the Jurien Bay Motorcycle Club hosting the event. Riders can then head north for the second round at Geraldton Junior & Senior Motocross Club on 12th July, followed by a visit to BSA & Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club on 2nd August. The fourth round will take place in Southern Capes Motorcycle Club’s venue on 23rd August before concluding with Coastal Park Motorcycle Club from 6th September. Participants must register their entries no later than midnight on the Wednesday preceding each event, as late registrations are not accepted. For those unsure of their ability to attend, it's advisable to contact the Race Secretary by the registration deadline for assistance or any changes needed in your entry details. Camping is permitted at all venues, offering a convenient setup close to the action but with limited facilities available; specific instructions will be provided closer to each event date. All riders are required to have current ambulance cover and personal health insurance, including income protection, as they ride entirely at their own risk. Eligible classes include 150cc Division (ages 5-9), 265cc class (7-12 years), Junior 2-stroke & 4-stroke categories for ages 9-12, and a variety of senior divisions including MX1 A grade, MX1 B grade, MX2 A grade, MX2 B grade, Clubman classes, veterans over the age of 35, masters riders above 45 years old, as well as ladies in all relevant categories. The series also accommodates electric bikes with specific power limitations. Dual classing is available for an additional fee, allowing participants to compete across two different classes during a single event or throughout the entire series. Transponder technology will be used at each round; there's a $10 hire fee per race unless you opt-in for online entry and pay a one-time charge of $40. The schedule begins early with pit openings from 5:00 am, followed by sign-on and safety equipment inspections starting at 5:30 am. Riders are required to complete the mandatory briefing session before practice sessions commence around 7:15 am, leading into official racing times which vary based on actual entries. Scoring is conducted through a point system where first place receives 35 points, with positions decreasing by two each time until sixth place. Final scores are non-protestable and awards will be presented in a separate ceremony after the series concludes; exact dates to be announced later. Riders must ensure their bikes meet standards for safety and performance before signing on, as self-scrutineering is mandatory at all events. Proper identification via rider numbers displayed prominently on jerseys and bikes ensures accurate scoring throughout each round. For those interested in supporting the event, flag marshals are needed to assist with trackside duties; contact your hosting club if you wish to volunteer. The series maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding drug or alcohol use during any part of the events for all participants. Safety measures include no smoking on premises and enclosed footwear required both in pits and on tracks. Spectators should adhere to these guidelines while enjoying this vibrant motocross community event.
