Wicked Spooky 5k & Creepy Crawly Climb

Halloween enthusiasts, get ready for an eerie yet exciting adventure at the Wicked Weed Funkatorium 5k on October 31, 2026. This year's race promises to be a spook-tacular experience with its unique Creepy Crawly Climb event.
The 5k starts bright and early at 9 AM from Wicked Weed’s Funkatorium located in the vibrant South Slope area of Downtown Asheville. For those looking for an extra thrill, a new kid-friendly Creepy Crawly Climb is set to take place concurrently. This climb, starting and finishing on Coxe Avenue, features a short but steep ascent up to the intersection with Hillard Street (which will be closed off to traffic) before descending back down—approximately 0.25 miles long.
Registration for kids includes a Finisher medal at just $10; an additional $20 can purchase you a race shirt during checkout, making it easier than ever to dress up in your most creative Halloween costume! Parents are welcome to run alongside their children, adding another layer of fun and family bonding.

Celebrate with a taste of Wicked Weed's craft beers (for those 21 and over) or enjoy non-alcoholic beverages while you unwind post-race. Race registration includes a Long Sleeve Race Shirt, Finisher Medal, donation to MountainTrue, and chip timing services.
Virtual participants can still join in the fun! After the event, they will receive their race shirt, medal, and bib via mail (US shipping only).

Strollers are welcome on the course, ensuring accessibility for all participants. However, dogs must remain outside at the brewery's patio or beer garden area; they cannot join runners during the race due to safety concerns and insurance requirements. Service animals are permitted with prior approval sent more than five days before the event date, accompanied by relevant documentation.
