Wild Turkey 5 Mile

On the morning of Thanksgiving, the North Shore community comes together for the 23rd Annual Wild Turkey 5 Mile Run. This beloved tradition not only celebrates the holiday spirit but also supports the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem through its fundraising efforts.
The race attracts a diverse crowd with over 2,000 runners expected to lace up their shoes and hit the starting line this year. Participants range from seasoned athletes to casual joggers looking for an enjoyable way to give back on Thanksgiving Day.
Registration fees increase as the event approaches: $40 after November 1, 2026, and a final price of $45 on race day itself.
Among the perks offered to runners is a long sleeve shirt given to the first 1600 registrants who sign up ahead of time. This keepsake serves as both a memento of their participation and a cozy layer for chilly mornings.
The Wild Turkey Run offers an engaging course that winds through scenic neighborhoods, past historic landmarks, and along picturesque waterfronts. The route is designed to showcase the beauty of Greater Salem while providing runners with a challenging yet rewarding experience.
As participants cross the finish line, they are greeted by cheering crowds and volunteers ready to provide hydration and snacks. This festive atmosphere continues as families gather for post-race festivities in local parks and squares, making it an ideal event for all ages to enjoy together on Thanksgiving morning.
The race is more than just a run; it's a community-driven initiative that brings people of all backgrounds together to support youth development programs throughout the year. Join us for this special day and help make a difference in your local community.
