About the Event

Dive into the serene waters of Wimbleball Lake, an exclusive venue where swimming is typically off-limits to the public. This picturesque lake has a history of hosting the Exmoor Open Water Swims and promises ideal water temperatures for August, making it perfect for open-water enthusiasts.
Swimmers are encouraged to wear only swimwear and goggles; wet suits are not mandatory but highly recommended for first-time participants or those less accustomed to cold waters. Short wetsuits or armless options can also be used for added comfort and buoyancy. For an extra layer of safety, a tow float is permitted.
Upon completing the event, all finishers will receive medals in recognition of their achievement. The race offers professional chip timing and complimentary hot drinks at the finish line to help warm up after your swim. Snacks and water served in recyclable paper cups are also provided for post-race refreshment.
Safety boats and large marker buoys ensure a secure environment throughout the event, allowing you to enjoy the stunning scenery of Wimbleball Lake without worrying about safety.
