Winwick Hall Trail Races

Nestled within the picturesque Winwick Hall Estate, the Race Harborough trail races offer runners of all levels an unforgettable experience on scenic trails. The estate’s diverse terrain features grassland, country paths, and hard-packed trails that wind through rolling hills and verdant landscapes.
The main event includes a 10k race for those seeking a challenge as well as a shorter but equally rewarding 5k option. Both routes are marked with clear arrow signs to guide runners along the way. The courses feature undulating terrain, offering both steep ascents and exhilarating descents that test endurance and agility.
For young athletes aged 4-12 years old, there’s also a fun-filled 2k race designed specifically for children. This event encourages kids to enjoy running in a supportive environment while parents are welcome to join them along the course.
All proceeds from entry fees will be donated directly to the Bruce Green Foundation, which supports young people under 21 facing social inequalities by providing access to educational and cultural experiences that foster personal growth.
Race day registration opens at Winwick Hall (NN6 7PD) starting at 08:00 for participants to collect their race numbers and timing chips. The 5k and 10k races begin promptly at 9:30am, followed by the children’s race at 11:15am.
On-course support includes first aid stations staffed with professional medical personnel as well as hydration stops along both longer routes to ensure runners remain hydrated throughout their journey. The Polo Pavilion Tea Room will be open for friends and family to enjoy hot drinks, homemade cakes, and snacks while cheering on participants from the finish line area.
Participants are advised to wear trail shoes if there has been recent rainfall but road running shoes suffice when conditions are dry. As a cupless event, runners should bring their own reusable cups or bottles to minimize waste during water stops.
Upon crossing the finish line, all competitors will receive a specially designed race medal commemorating their achievement and contribution towards an important cause. Additionally, complimentary digital photos of each runner finishing the race will be made available soon after completion via Race Harborough’s Facebook page.
