Wolf Creek Trail Run

The Wolf Creek Trail Run returns to Poplar Bluff, Missouri on March 27th for its fourteenth year as a community gathering place where runners come together to support local causes. The event is co-hosted by the PB Kiwanis Club and US Forest Service and aims to raise funds for the ongoing maintenance of Kiwanis Bacon Memorial Park.
Race day begins early in Poplar Bluff, with participants assembling on Forestry Road 3107 at 6:00 AM. This road, also known as County Road 429, leads runners directly to Wolf Creek Trail where they will start their journey north of the Highway Patrol Station. The trail is situated off the outer road and begins just a short distance after turning onto Forestry Road.
Since its inception in 2014, the Wolf Creek Trail Run has grown into an integral part of Poplar Bluff's annual calendar, drawing both local residents and out-of-town visitors alike for this unique running experience. The event supports the PB Kiwanis Club’s efforts to maintain Bacon Memorial Park, ensuring that future generations will have access to a well-maintained public space.
The Wolf Creek Trail itself offers runners a diverse terrain with firm but slightly soft conditions underfoot, ideal for a morning run on race day. Starting at 8:30 AM sharp, the trail winds through scenic woodland areas and over small bridges along its route. Notable features include water stations located strategically near major cross-overs to ensure participants can stay hydrated throughout their journey.
Weather forecasts predict typical March conditions with temperatures ranging between 7°C and 15°C (45°F - 60°F), which is generally comfortable for running or walking early in the morning, though runners are advised to check local updates closer to race day. The UV index will be moderate at around level four, so participants should apply sunscreen as needed.
