Women On Wheels / WOW Ride

The 2026 Women On Wheels / WOW Ride marks its 12th anniversary with renewed vigor on October 18. This year's edition welcomes cyclists from all skill levels to Sarasota, Florida, where they can enjoy a fresh route through the heart of downtown’s vibrant landscape.
Participants gather at Ringling Circus Park early in the morning under a canopy of lush greenery and historic charm. The atmosphere is electric as riders prepare for one of three routes designed to cater to every ability level: 20 miles (32.2K), 40 miles (50K), or Metric Century at 100K.
The 20-mile route offers a scenic mix that challenges while rewarding with breathtaking views, ideal for seasoned and new riders alike. The longer routes provide unique adventures through greater distances and stunning scenery. Each course promises its own set of obstacles and vistas to make the ride memorable.
Weather conditions are expected to be comfortable yet slightly humid, with average temperatures around 24.4°C and a moderate UV index. A gentle breeze from an average wind speed of 17 km/h ensures cyclists enjoy cool breezes while minimizing sun exposure.
Registration is open online at https://raceroster.com/events/2026/138297/women-on-wheels-wow-ride until July 31, with early registrants receiving a Stars, Stripes & Spokes event jersey. Bibs can be picked up from October 15 to 16 between 9 AM and 7 PM at Village Idiots Cycling Club or on race morning starting at 8 AM.
First-timers should bring their ID for age verification if required, along with essential cycling gear and hydration equipment. The WOW Ride is not just a race but a powerful statement of women’s empowerment in Sarasota, encouraging riders to join the celebration under the stars and stripes.
