Woods Park Twilight Runs - 4th Annual

Lincoln's Woods Park hosts its fourth annual Twilight Runs on October 24th (dependent on the Nebraska Football Schedule), offering runners an enchanting autumnal journey. Two races are on offer: the 5K run open to all ages and abilities, and the Wild Things 1-mile race exclusively for participants aged twelve and under. Both begin at 6:00 pm on Woods Park's looped course, promising a scenic route through firm yet slightly soft fields that challenge runners while maintaining an enjoyable pace.
The highlight is undoubtedly the 5K run, which starts half an hour later at 5:30 pm. This race offers a flat but cross-country experience with multiple laps, ideal for gauging fall running fitness and pushing personal limits or simply enjoying autumn's beauty. The course layout encourages adherence to the "stay right except to pass" principle, ensuring fair competition.
