X. Triatlón Olímpico de Getxo - Memorial Agustin Ugarte (Campeonato de Euskadi)
About the Event
The Triatlón de Getxo – Memorial Agustín Ugarte is a must-attend race for triathlon enthusiasts, offering an Olympic-distance course without drafting and set against the stunning backdrop of Getxo. This competition also serves as the Basque Country (Euskadi) Championship, making it particularly special. Discounts are available to those who participated in the 2025 edition, with a $5 discount applied directly at registration. Additionally, teams with ten or more participants will receive a refundable $5 per person discount, which will be returned later upon team verification. The race features an Olympic-distance course consisting of a 1.5 km swim, followed by a 44 km bike ride and concluding with a 10 km run. The exact start times are yet to be determined but participants can expect the registration for bib collection between 2:30 PM and 4:15 PM on race day, access to transition area at 4:30 PM, and the men's event starting promptly at 4:40 PM with a separate wave for women. Non-federated athletes will have their own start time. Time cuts are strictly enforced: - First Transition (T1): Participants must complete T1 within 45 minutes of the race start. - Second Transition (T2): Athletes need to finish T2 by 3 hours and 45 minutes from the starting gun. - Finish Line: All competitors have until 3 hours and 45 minutes after the start time. The event is open to both federated athletes and non-federated participants. Federated categories include Junior, Sub-23, Veteran (1, 2, & 3), and Open for men and women in Absolute category. Non-federated competitors must purchase an additional $10 insurance with their registration. Prizes are awarded to the top five male and female finishers: - First place: €500 - Second place: €300 - Third place: €200 - Fourth place: €100 - Fifth place: €50 Additionally, trophies will be presented to the winners of each category as well as the best local triathletes from Getxo. A secure and monitored bag check is provided for athletes during transition areas. Registration cancellation policies are in effect until August 31st when a full refund (minus transaction fees) can be requested. After September 1, no refunds will be issued.
