Esta Carrera nació en Alicante y fue impulsada por el gastroenterólogo del Hospital General Universitario Doctor Balmis y subdirector Científico del Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria y Biomédica de Alicante (ISABIAL), Dr. Enrique de Madaria. Actualmente, está promovida por la Asociación Española de Pancreatología (AESPANC), la Asociación Española contra el Cáncer de Páncreas (ACANPAN) y la Asociación Española de Gastroenterología (AEG), en colaboración con otras entidades, entre las que se encuentra ISABIAL.
Bajo el lema «ACERCAMOS LA META», serán un año más miles de participantes que en distintas ciudades del país correrán por el fomento de la investigación de esta patología y darán visibilidad al problema social que supone. Te animamos que te unas a esta edición de Alicante - un año más o por primera vez - para "acercar la meta" de la investigación a la cura de esta terrible enfermedad.
