XTERRA TRANSCEND Trail Run

Fast, flowy singletrack. Scenic wooded corridors. Lakeside views. The 6th annual XTERRA TRANSCEND Trail Fest returns to Dickerson Mine Preserve in Randolph, New Jersey, on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Half marathon (two loops of 6.8 miles, 400 ft gain per loop), 10k (one loop), and 5k (170 ft gain). A 2027 XTERRA Trail Run World Championship qualifier (Malta). Finishers receive a limited edition XTERRA Transcend coffee mug. Post‑race beer garden and outdoor dining at Black River Barn. All proceeds support JORBA (Jersey Off Road Biking Association) trail maintenance.

Course Details:

• Fast, approachable, runner‑friendly trail race — smooth, efficient, incredibly fun
• 6.8‑mile main loop with just 400 ft of elevation gain — very mild by New Jersey trail standards
• Singletrack, wooded corridors, and beautiful lakeside views
• Dickerson Mine Preserve, Randolph, NJ — known for well‑maintained multi‑use trails
• Half marathon = two full loops of the 10k course
• 5k = shortened loop (3.1 miles)

World Championship Qualifier:

• Half marathon is a qualifier for the 2027 XTERRA Trail Run World Championships in Malta
• Age group winners (5‑year age groups) qualify for the world championships
• Malta — Mediterranean island nation known for rugged coastlines, limestone cliffs, and historic trails

• Chip timing with age group rankings

• World Championship qualifier half marathon — age group medals (top 3 men/women, 5‑year age groups: 19 & under, 20‑24, 25‑29, 30‑34, 35‑39, 40‑44, 45‑49, 50‑54, 55‑59, 60‑64, 65‑69, 70+)
• 10k — 10‑year age group medals (top 3 men/women: 19 & under, 20‑29, 30‑39, 40‑49, 50‑59, 60+)
• 5k — top 3 overall medals (men/women)
• Fully stocked aid stations (water, electrolyte, basic trail snacks)
• Medical support on course
• Bag drop at start/finish
• Post‑race beer garden and outdoor dining at Black River Barn

Required Gear:

• Charged cell phone
• RideWithGPS app pre‑loaded (or GPX file on your choice of app) — audio cues for turns
• Hydration pack or water bottle
• Minimum 200 calories (gels, chews, energy bar, etc.)
• Whistle

Navigation — On‑Course GPS with Audio Cues:

• All registered runners receive full access to RideWithGPS during the event
• Free app can provide audio alerts before each turn
• Course is marked with arrows and tape, but things can be missed — the app helps you re‑orient

Post‑Race Experience:

• Start, lap, and finish at Black River Barn — a lakeside destination with outdoor dining and beer on tap
• If you do not plan to eat at Black River Barn, please plan to leave the parking area by 11:00 AM
• Half marathon runners needing more time: extended parking available at Education Station (1176 NJ‑10, Randolph, NJ) — short walk to start area

Giving Back:

• A portion of event proceeds donated to JORBA (Jersey Off Road Biking Association)
• Supports volunteers who maintain and protect these outstanding multi‑use trails

Weather & What to Wear:

• Extended forecast calls for perfect race weather: 55‑70°F
• Trail running shoes recommended
• All conditions event — rain or shine. No refunds.
• Event t‑shirts available for sale at the race (pre‑order to guarantee your size)
