Trail Runners United invites you back to the scenic trails of Southease for another exhilarating year. This annual trail run, consistently held during the same season each year, promises an unforgettable experience through its challenging terrain and picturesque landscapes. The race begins with a steep climb that sets the tone for what lies ahead—a mix of rugged paths, muddy puddles, and chalky descents demanding sturdy footwear. Participants are encouraged to download detailed trail narratives from our website, which include links to Strava and Garmin mapmyrun route maps for thorough preparation. Registration is easy: simply arrive at the YHA cafe by 11:15 AM to collect your number and event trucker's cap before heading to the start line atop Southease Bridge at noon. The race provides bottled water at the beginning, a mid-race hydration station, and complimentary tea, coffee, and cake upon crossing the finish line. To reach the starting point, we recommend using public transportation or cycling due to limited parking in the area. Train times will be provided when start lists are emailed out closer to the event date. Dress appropriately for the weather conditions and bring plenty of water and snacks along with you as some sections can get quite slippery underfoot. The trail offers stunning views that make each step worthwhile, ensuring a memorable journey through nature’s beauty. Course records stand at an impressive 1 hour 39 minutes and 15 seconds by Ajay Hanspal in the men's category (2023) and Ellen Brookes with a time of 1 hour 52 minutes and 59 seconds for women (2021). Non-TRA/UKA members will be required to pay an additional £2 levy upon entry. This event is strictly for runners aged 18 and over, ensuring the safety and competitiveness of all participants. Join us in Southease for a day filled with adventure and camaraderie on the trails. Enjoy the challenge and breathtaking scenery as you navigate through this beloved trail run experience.
