Yippee-Ki-Yay Races

The Yippee-Ki-Yay Races return to Council Bluffs, Iowa on October 24th, featuring a trio of challenging distances for runners: the 50K Ultra Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K Race. This seventh edition takes place along the scenic Wabash Trace Nature Trail, starting and finishing at the Iowa West Foundation Trail Head Park in Council Bluffs.

Year seven brings renewed enthusiasm and tradition with Bonnie’s Country Chicken Noodle Soup waiting at the finish line after each race distance. Since its inception in 2019, this event has attracted runners from across the United States, growing steadily due to word-of-mouth praise for both course conditions and post-race celebrations. This year's field limit of just 200 participants ensures a high-quality experience that is not to be missed.
The Yippee-Ki-Yay Races take place entirely on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, offering runners an opportunity to traverse nearly nine miles over various terrain types: mostly rail trail with some pavement. The course is known for its flat stretches and picturesque views of surrounding farmland and wooded areas. Aid stations are well-placed throughout each distance, providing water, Honey Stinger sports drink, and other essentials needed during the run.
