YOTE

About the Event

YOTE returns to Laurelville, Ohio on September 19th for its second annual run featuring a variety of challenging distances set in the picturesque landscape around Londonderry.
The event takes place at Clark Hollow Road where runners will encounter diverse trail conditions that vary with each season. On race morning, participants can expect cool temperatures ranging from an average of 20.7 degrees Celsius to highs and lows within the range of 15.1C to 26.2C. The weather is typically dry but carries a slight risk of precipitation at around 2.3mm in rainfall.
Since its inception, YOTE has become a significant event for runners looking to test their endurance on challenging terrain. Last year’s race drew over two hundred participants across all distances and supported local trail maintenance efforts through entry fees. This year promises more technical trails with the majority of the course being 95% trail-based for both the 25k and 50k runs, offering a fresh challenge to returning racers.
The course design this year focuses on maximizing the use of rugged forest paths that wind through Londonderry’s scenic countryside. The terrain is predominantly hard-packed earth with sections varying in difficulty due to natural obstacles like rocks and roots. Runners will face minimal elevation changes but must be prepared for technical trail conditions where footing can become unpredictable.
Weather-wise, participants should anticipate an average temperature of 20.7 degrees Celsius on race day, with a humid air quality at around 66%. Expect winds blowing from the north-east at approximately 8.6 km/h and UV index levels moderate at 5.0. The sun will be up for nearly eleven hours providing ample daylight to navigate through the course.
The event offers multiple distance options: runners can choose between a grueling 50K, a challenging 25K, or opt for the more manageable but still demanding 10K run. Each participant is guaranteed a finisher's T-shirt and an award certificate upon completion of their chosen race. Top male and female participants in each distance will also receive additional recognition.
Registration for YOTE can be completed online via [https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=132916](https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=132916). The entry fees are $59.00 for the 10K, $89.00 for the 25K, and $109.00 for the 50K race. Bib pickup will take place at Clark Hollow Road on September 17th from 6pm to 8pm or September 18th from noon until 4pm where participants must bring a valid photo ID.
All runners should be aware that they are expected off course by 7:00 pm, with aid station cutoffs for the 50K run also in place but details will be announced later. Participants under eighteen years old need to have their parent or guardian sign a waiver on race day at Clark Hollow Road before taking part.
YOTE in Laurelville is an event not just about running, but about engaging deeply with nature and pushing personal limits over rugged terrain that challenges even the most experienced trail runners. This makes it worth attending for those who enjoy testing themselves against the elements and the camaraderie of fellow endurance athletes on this unique course.
