The Zig Zag Challenge returns for its fifth year, this time setting up shop at High Lodge within Thetford Forest near Brandon IP27 0AF. This intimate race offers runners a variety of distances to choose from, including the classic 5k and 10k options, as well as longer challenges like the Half Marathon, Heavy Half Marathon (up to seven laps), Full Marathon, and even an Ultra Marathon that can stretch up to twelve loops depending on your endurance. The route is designed around a picturesque 5.3km loop within Thetford Forest's grounds, featuring a mix of pathways and woodland trails. Whether you're tackling your first official distance or aiming for personal bests in more seasoned distances, the event offers ample space and an inviting atmosphere to suit all levels of runners. Participants will enjoy exclusive use of Oak Lodge for registration and post-race refreshments, where complimentary tea, coffee, and cake await after crossing the finish line. A water station is conveniently placed at each lap point, ensuring you can stay hydrated without carrying extra gear throughout your run. Parking on race day costs just £5 with a QR code provided to participants, making it easy to get in and out of the event area. Each runner will receive a bespoke medal upon completion, celebrating their achievement uniquely for this year's Zig Zag Challenge. The course is primarily pathway-based but includes sections of trails through the forest, offering scenic views and varied terrain.
