Get ready for an unforgettable running experience along the picturesque Elbe River! On September 12, 2026, before Wittenberge hosts its Landesgartenschau in 2027, join us for a stunning race that showcases some of the region's most beautiful scenery. Whether you're a seasoned pro or an enthusiastic hobby runner, this event promises to be a highlight on your calendar. The race begins and ends at Elbstraße 65 (elbwärts.455) in Wittenberge, offering participants a chance to warm up with professional athlete Elisa Schönfeld starting from 09:45 AM. The course winds along the scenic promenade and over the dike, providing runners with breathtaking views of the river. This event features two race distances: a shorter 5.8 km run/walk option for those looking for a more manageable challenge, as well as an exhilarating 13.4 km route designed to test your endurance against the stunning backdrop of Wittenberge’s natural beauty. Both courses are part of the Prignitz-Cup competition, with results contributing towards rankings in various age categories. For young runners up to U16, there's a special prize for winners across all distances and walking events. While children receive individual recognition through awards ceremonies, adult participants can request certificates upon request at no extra cost beyond their registration fee. The overall male and female champions of each distance will be awarded with trophies. A unique feature of this event is the "Schul-Power" competition, where schools compete to see who can field the largest number of runners. The winning school's class fund receives a special prize. To participate in Schul-Power, make sure to include your school and class information during online registration at www.tollense-timing.de by September 10, 2026. Registration fees must be paid upon signing up; however, latecomers can still register on race day until 30 minutes before the start for a nominal fee of €5. Start numbers will be available from 08:30 AM onwards at the event venue. Please note that pets are not allowed along the course to ensure safety and comfort for all participants. For more information, contact Landesgartenschau Wittenberge at +49 3877 5639300 or email info@laga-wittenberge.de. See you on September 12th as we bring the Elbe promenade to life!
