Experience the 13th annual Homestead Cycling Tour on Saturday, August 29th. Join us for an unforgettable journey through the scenic landscapes of Nebraska. This year's tour offers four distinct routes: 15 miles, 25 miles, 40 miles, and a challenging 72-mile route along the Chief Standing Bear Trail. For those seeking a unique adventure on gravel roads, we have added two new options: a 36-mile and a 60-mile route. These will take you through some of Nebraska's most picturesque countryside, winding across beautiful gravel and dirt paths that showcase the natural beauty around you. SAG support is available throughout your ride with stops at strategic points along the way. You'll find refreshments at trailheads located at miles 12, 18, 31, 41, and 51. While this event isn't a race, it offers a memorable tour that combines gravel roads, dirt paths, and stunning views. Your $40 entry fee includes plenty of support along the way as well as fresh pie at Barneston Trailhead and upon completion. Sign up before August 17th to receive our famous soft, comfy long sleeve event shirt! A portion of your registration fees will go towards maintaining Chief Standing Bear Trail. Packet pick-up starts on Saturday, August 29th, from 6:30 am at Stone Hollow Brewery located at 301 Courth Street in Beatrice. The rides commence as follows: - 40 and 72-mile trail rides begin at 7:30 am. - 36 and 60-mile gravel routes start a bit earlier, at 7:00 am. - A 25-mile trail ride kicks off at 7:45 am. - The shorter 15-mile route starts at 8:00 am. SAG support is available from the beginning of rides until 4 pm. Helmets are mandatory on all routes, and please notify us if you change your planned route during the event. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just starting out, this tour promises to be an enjoyable experience. Enjoy the scenic views along the crushed limestone trail that follows Big Blue River, passing through Holmesville, Blue Springs, Barneston, and eventually Marysville in Kansas. Restrooms and drinking fountains are available at key points on your journey. Don't forget to visit Stone Hollow Brewery after your ride for a discounted drink and meal. A huge thank you goes out to all our generous sponsors: Vintage Venue, Westin Packaged Meats, First State Bank Beatrice, ExMark Mfg., Leo’s Jewelry, Anytime Fitness Beatrice, Beatrice Community Hospital, Landmark Snacks, Colleen's Catering, Stone Hollow Brewing Co., Blazn Grill Works, and Big Blue Bike Co.
