13th XeSkouriaZo: A Mountain Running Race to Save Skouries

Since its inception in 2013, the Xeskouriazo Trail race has been an annual gathering of runners and nature enthusiasts on Mount Kakavos in Megali Panagia, Halkidiki. Organized by the Association of Women of Megali Panagia, this event not only celebrates trail running but also champions environmental conservation, particularly against threats posed by gold-copper mining to the mountain's ecosystem.
On Sunday, October 5, 2025, runners will converge at the village square in Megali Panagia for the twelfth iteration of Xeskouriazo. The race offers three distinct distances: a scenic 5km run around the charming village, a challenging 15km course through varied terrain on Mount Kakavos, and an adventurous 25km route that showcases the mountain's rugged beauty.
