About the Event

The Hiking Adventure on Velebit takes place from September 1–6, 2026, in Velebit, Croatia, with routes ranging from 1 to 5 days (24 km to 99 km). This challenging hiking adventure takes you through Northern Velebit National Park via Premužić's Trail, through Nature Park and Paklenica National Park, all the way to the Adriatic Sea finish line. Checkpoints are closed between 10 PM and 6 AM, and you must collect all checkpoint stamps to receive the HIGHLANDER Title, Pin, Patch, and Certificate.

5DAY — Zavižan to Starigrad
99 km • 4 nights • Start: Sept 1, 6:30-9:00 AM • 3,200m ascent / 4,700m descent

3DAY — Baške Oštarije to Starigrad
51 km • 2 nights • Nature Park + National Park • Sunset at Panos

2DAY — Starigrad loop
34 km • 1 night • Jaz beach → Educational trail Pjeskarica → Velika Paklenica

1DAY — Starigrad circular
24 km • 0 nights • Beach → Paklenica National Park → old shepherd paths

5DAY: Zavižan → Northern Velebit NP via Premužić's Trail → Ramino Korito → Panos → Paklenica NP → Starigrad (Adriatic Sea)
3DAY: Baške Oštarije → Panos → Veliko Rujno → Paklenica NP → Starigrad
2DAY: Starigrad (Jaz beach) → Educational trail Pjeskarica → Velika Paklenica → checkpoint → Starigrad
1DAY: Starigrad beach → Paklenica National Park → Velika Paklenica canyon → old shepherd paths → Starigrad

Checkpoint Schedule (5DAY example):

Start — Zavižan (Sept 1, 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM)
CP1 — Skorpovac (Sept 1, 2:00 PM – Sept 2, 4:00 PM)
CP2 — Baške Oštarije (Sept 2, 6:00 AM – Sept 3, 8:00 PM)
CP3 — Panos (Sept 2, 4:00 PM – Sept 4, 8:00 PM)
CP4 — Veliko Rujno (Sept 3, 12:00 PM – Sept 4, 8:00 PM)
CP5 — PD Paklenica (Sept 3, 12:00 PM – Sept 4, 8:00 PM)
Finish — Starigrad (Sept 4, 8:00 AM – Sept 5, 2:00 PM)
Checkpoints closed between 10 PM and 6 AM daily.

Transport:

Bus for 5DAY format leaves from Senj (Nehaj parking lot) at 5:00 AM on September 1.
Detailed bus schedule in travel & accommodation section.
Each format has its own starting point at the same location as check-in.

Rules and Safety:

Equipment check at start — safety is #1 priority.
You must collect all checkpoint stamps to receive HIGHLANDER Title, Pin, Patch, and Certificate.
Missing a stamp = disqualification.
Participant is solely responsible for collecting stamps.

The Hiking Adventure on Velebit 2026 is a multi-day mountain-to-sea journey through Croatia's most spectacular national parks. From the 99 km 5DAY challenge to the 24 km 1DAY introduction, every hiker earns the HIGHLANDER Title.
