2. Schnadegang Rund um Schalksmühle

The 2nd Schnadegang Rund um Schalksmühle, scheduled for July 12, 2026, invites runners to experience an exhilarating and scenic journey around the picturesque town of Schalksmühle. The race starts promptly at 8:00 AM from the Parkplatz Glörtstr., with a mandatory briefing beginning at 7:50 AM.
This challenging event covers a distance of 47 kilometers, featuring an elevation gain of approximately 1,200 meters as runners navigate through varied terrain against the clock. The route is not closed to traffic and participants must exercise caution around vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians throughout their journey.
The trail will be marked consistently with "S" symbols for easy identification, yet all competitors are advised to familiarize themselves with a gpx track provided by organizers about one week before the race date. This ensures that runners stay on course during this rigorous event.
Runners can look forward to receiving full meal service at designated points along the route as part of their experience. These locations will be communicated in advance, ensuring participants are well-fed and hydrated throughout their run. In case of extreme heat conditions, an additional "quiet" hydration station may also be set up for runners' convenience.
Cut-off times vary based on pace: those aiming to complete the course at a faster rate than 6 minutes per kilometer will have access until 8:45 AM; slower paces are accommodated with cut-offs every hour thereafter, ranging from 10 minutes per kilometer. The final checkpoint closes at 4 PM, giving runners up to eight hours plus some leeway to complete the course.
Participants must bring their own reusable cup and a minimum of one liter of fluid along with an adequately charged mobile phone containing contact information for organizers. Additionally, each runner is expected to download and carry the gpx track provided by race officials.
Registration fees are waived in exchange for a contribution towards event costs amounting to €15 per participant via WERO or PayPal (Family & Friends) payment methods within one week of signing up. No refunds will be issued for on-site registrations, which are not allowed once the deadline passes.
The anticipated maximum number of runners is capped at 40 participants with a minimum requirement set at three individuals to ensure a quality race experience. Should there be fewer than seven confirmed entries two weeks prior to the event date or if capacity limits have been reached, organizers reserve the right to cancel participation without providing specific reasons for refusal.
Sanitation facilities are limited; no showers or changing areas will be available along the route and personal belongings cannot be stored at checkpoints.
