On July 18, 2026, the TSV Otterndorf Athletic Club is hosting an exciting race day at Jahn-Sportplatz on Sophienweg 3 in Otterndorf. The event features two competitive races: a half-hour run and a one-hour endurance challenge. The main attraction of this event is the hour-long race starting promptly at 11:00 AM, where participants aim to complete as many laps around the Jahn-Sportplatz track as possible within an hour. Each lap measures 400 meters on the well-maintained athletic field that has been a staple in Otterndorf for years. The organizers use transponders to accurately measure distances and times, ensuring fair competition without requiring participants to own their own equipment. For those looking for a shorter but equally intense race experience, there's also a half-hour run beginning at 10:00 AM. This event includes an additional challenge of achieving the best possible time in a 5K split during the race. Both races offer opportunities for personal achievement and are eligible for inclusion on official leaderboards. Registration is open until July 17, 2026, or when capacity reaches its limit at 40 runners per event. On-site registration will be available up to half an hour before each start time with a small fee of €2 added if registering day-of. Entry fees for the races are modest: €8 for the one-hour race and €6 for the half-hour run. Participants can enjoy refreshments at designated stations near both the starting line and finish area, ensuring they stay hydrated and energized throughout their runs. The venue also provides changing rooms and showers as well as restrooms to help runners get ready or clean up after crossing the finish line. In addition to these races, AbsoluteRun Bremen will be on-site offering a complimentary shoe testing service for all participants interested in trying out various New Balance running shoes and receiving expert advice from Tobias Wolter. To schedule an appointment with him during your visit, contact t.wolter1803@gmail.com or call 0151 / 61 20 66 79. All runners will receive a certificate upon completion of their race that includes the distance they covered and any split times achieved. This event is open to individuals born in 2006 or earlier, ensuring safety for all participants while promoting fair competition among athletes with similar levels of experience and physical maturity. By registering, competitors agree to adhere to guidelines set forth by TSV Otterndorf regarding personal responsibility during the race and acknowledge that any data collected may be used for promotional purposes in connection with this event. Participants also consent to having their results shared on various media platforms without compensation. This event promises not only a competitive atmosphere but also an opportunity for community engagement, fitness improvement, and fun among runners of all skill levels.
