2026 Absolutely Beautiful Country Ride - 7/12/2026
About the Event
Experience the picturesque rolling hills and charming villages of Summit, Medina, and Wayne Counties on July 12, 2026, as The Akron Bicycle Club hosts its 52nd edition of the Absolutely Beautiful Country Ride. This year's event kicks off at the Winery at Wolf Creek in Barberton, Ohio, located just south of Copley High School near the Barberton Reservoir. Riders will have ample opportunities to enjoy the serene surroundings, with tasting rooms and shaded areas where you can sample local wines and craft beers. A delicious catered lunch from Old Carolina BBQ Co. awaits at the air-conditioned banquet room or on the beautiful grounds of the winery. All participants receive a complimentary 2026 Absolutely Beautiful Country Ride T-shirt (designs may vary, with limited quantities available after June 23). The event offers four distinct routes: 25 miles, 50 miles, 62 miles, and an epic 100-mile journey. This year marks a change in the direction of the longer routes—50, 62, and 100 miles—from previous years, offering new scenic challenges. Safety is paramount on this ride with full rest stops and SAG support available along all route options. Light lunch provisions are included for those taking part in the grueling 100-mile challenge. Routes will close at 3:30 PM to ensure a smooth transition back home. Helmets, rear view mirrors, headlamps, and reflectors are recommended for additional safety while riding. Please adhere strictly to traffic laws during your journey. E-bikes are permitted per the club’s policy; visit Akronbike.org for more details or to become a member today. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to give back! Participate in the 50/50 raffle, where every $10 entry contributes towards cancer research at Cleveland Clinic through Velosano TEAM ABC. A lucky winner will receive half of the proceeds from the event. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all our sponsors for their unwavering support and making this ride possible. Join us for an unforgettable adventure that promises both challenge and camaraderie, as we celebrate 52 years of cycling excellence in Akron!
