Course & Conditions
The course was a mix of firm and slightly soft terrain that required careful navigation. The first mile saw runners heading along the picturesque roads around Lake Norman State Park before transitioning into a loop through rolling hills and open fields, providing scenic views for the entire race. Runners then faced an uphill climb as they approached the transition area at Freedom Park where bikes were checked in before continuing on to the second leg of the run.
The start/finish was marked by the vibrant community spirit of Statesville, with spectators lining both sides of the route and local businesses offering support through strategically placed aid stations. A special feature this year included a mid-race refreshment station serving fresh fruit and hydration options for athletes.
