2026 Eden Project Marathon and Half Marathon

On October 18th, 2026, the Eden Project in Bodelva, Cornwall will host its annual marathon and half-marathon events. Nestled within the iconic Eden Project site, these races offer runners an unforgettable journey through a landscape rich with history and natural beauty.
The full marathon course winds around the famous biomes and expansive grounds of the Eden Project, weaving into the surrounding Clay Country—a region steeped in mining heritage and breathtaking countryside vistas. The half-marathon follows a similarly scenic route but offers participants a slightly shorter yet equally rewarding challenge.
Both events feature staggered start times: the marathon kicks off at 9:30 AM, while the half-marathon begins just thirty minutes later at 10:00 AM. Early bird tickets for both races are already sold out, leaving full price options available until September 30th. Marathon runners will pay £48 to take part, with a slightly lower fee of £43 for those tackling the half marathon.
Participants can look forward to an array of perks and amenities designed to enhance their race day experience. Upon crossing the finish line, all competitors receive themed medals celebrating this year's event theme. Additionally, runners will enjoy a traditional Cornish pasty paired with a refreshing beer at designated refreshment points along the route.
Water stations are positioned every three miles throughout both courses, ensuring that participants stay hydrated as they navigate varied terrain and hills characteristic of Cornwall’s unique landscape. Every seven miles, isotonic drinks provide an extra boost for those pushing their limits.
The Eden Project has partnered with St Austell Running Club to bring this event to life. The race is not just a sporting endeavor but also supports the creation of vital wildflower habitats within the site itself. By participating in the Eden Marathon and Half Marathon, runners contribute directly to efforts aimed at enhancing local wildlife and promoting pollinator health.
For those interested in supporting the Eden Project’s mission beyond their participation fee, fundraising opportunities are available through the Run for Eden initiative. Pledging to raise £250 will grant participants complimentary entry into the event as well as a tech t-shirt and additional support throughout the fundraising process.
Prizes await top finishers across various categories including male and female winners in both races, veteran divisions by age group, and team competitions. The full marathon offers substantial cash prizes for first-place men (£300) and women (£300), while half-marathon victors receive £250 each.
