2026 Forty Fort 4 Miler Run / Walk

Join us on Sunday, October 11, 2026, for the inaugural Forty Fort 4 Miler Run/Walk at Betty Mascelli Park in Shook Place, Pennsylvania. This community-driven event honors Danny Jones Jr., whose life and legacy continue to inspire hope and healing within our community.
Danny's infectious smile, love of music, and ability to bring people together are fondly remembered by those who knew him. His tragic loss due to an accidental overdose in 2020 has only strengthened the resolve of his family, friends, and supporters to raise awareness about substance use disorder. The event aims to support individuals and families impacted by addiction through proceeds that benefit the Danny Jones Jr. Memorial Fund at The Luzerne Foundation.
Participants will gather from 8:00 AM for check-in until registration closes at 8:45 AM, with a race start promptly at 9:00 AM. Enjoy a scenic four-mile route that winds through Forty Fort's charming streets and along the levee before passing through the historic Forty Fort Cemetery. The course concludes back at Betty Mascelli Park.
Pre-register for $30 until September 11 to secure your spot, including an exclusive event tee shirt available during registration checkout. After this date, pre-registration costs $40 (without a t-shirt) plus a processing fee of $6. On the day of the race, same-day registration will be open from 8:00 AM until 8:45 AM.
Awards for top male and female finishers overall as well as in age groups ranging from under 14 to over 70 years old will add an extra element of excitement. Limited parking is available at Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc., Funeral Home along Wyoming Avenue and nearby side streets; please be considerate when choosing where to park.
