About the Event
The 2026 "Pathfinder" Fourth Annual TONGLU 100 Trail Race is set to take place from December 5th-6th, 2026, in Tonglu County of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The race will start and finish at the parking lot near Huichang Primary School (north side), with registration for participants taking place on December 5th at Futur Lake Park. The event features four distinct categories: - Xuanwu Group – a challenging 102.6 km trek that includes over 5,423 meters of elevation gain and is designed to test the limits of experienced trail runners with its rugged terrain.
- Zhuque Group – an exhilarating 59.2 km course featuring 2,506 meters in total ascent across varied landscapes. - Qinglong Group – a scenic 43.6 km route that incorporates 1,536 meters of elevation changes through breathtaking mountain scenery.
- Baihu Group – an accessible yet adventurous 19 km run with approximately 851 meters in total climb for runners looking to explore the natural beauty at a more relaxed pace. Registration opens on September 21st at 08:08 AM, and participants are encouraged to sign up early as spots fill quickly. The Xuanwu Group will kick off at 2:30 PM on December 5th with a cutoff time of 6:30 PM the next day, while other groups start later in the morning or afternoon of December 6th. The event's trail system is inspired by historical paths once used by ancient scholars and warriors. These routes are steeped in cultural significance, reflecting traditional beliefs about protection and harmony with nature as embodied in the four cardinal directions: Xuanwu (Water), Zhuque (Fire), Qinglong (Wood/Water), and Baihu (Metal). Runners will traverse through pristine natural environments, including deep valleys carved by the Dàyuán Creek, passing ancient stone carvings along historic pathways. This year’s course aims to honor these traditional trails while offering a modern challenge for today's endurance athletes. Participants can look forward to an immersive experience that combines physical exertion with cultural immersion in one of China’s most scenic and historically rich regions. The race promises not only competitive racing but also opportunities to connect deeply with the natural beauty and heritage of Tonglu County.
