Pula Marathon

Running through Pula's historic streets offers an unforgettable experience for athletes, blending ancient charm with modern excitement. The half marathon kicks off at 8:00 PM on Saturday from the grand entrance of the Pula Arena and winds its way along a scenic route that showcases some of Croatia’s most iconic landmarks.
The race begins in front of the Arena and takes runners through Punta before heading right onto the street named after the 43rd Istrian Division. At Šijana's roundabout, participants turn left to follow Ulica Prekomorskih Brigada (state road D66) back towards Punat via Trščanska Street. The course continues along 119th Brigade Street toward Mandrač for the turnaround point and then retraces its steps through Riva.
As runners approach Forum, they enter Anticova Street and continue to Giardino before heading left on Carrarina Street towards the City Library and back to the Arena, completing a roughly 10.5-kilometer loop. The second lap follows an identical path, allowing half marathoners to fully immerse themselves in Pula's vibrant atmosphere.
Upon returning to the finish line at the Arena, runners descend next to Valerija Park onto Old Statute Street and then climb up Flavijevska Street before crossing back into the arena. This unique route offers a mix of flat terrain and slight inclines that challenge participants while providing stunning views along the way.
For those not competing in the half marathon or full marathon, there's also a 5km race on Saturday night with an entertainment program at Pula Arena to enjoy after the run concludes. The event is designed to celebrate both athleticism and cultural heritage, making it a must-attend for runners looking to experience the beauty of Pula.
The marathon and half marathon events are part of a broader festival that includes music performances, food stalls, and local artisans selling crafts in the Arena's courtyard.
