2026 MUNGYEONG OMIJA MARATHON

On October 11, 2026, runners from around the world will gather at Mungyeong Civic Stadium for an exhilarating day of racing. The event is organized by Yeongnam Ilbo and the Mungyeong Sports Council in collaboration with Daeil Planning, supported by Mungyeong City and its city council.
Registration opens on July 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM for a limited number of 5,000 participants. Refund requests can be made until September 11, 2026, at 5:00 PM. The race day starts with an assembly at the stadium at 8:00 AM, followed by the official start time of 9:00 AM.
Participants have three options to choose from: a half marathon (KRW 40,000), a 10 km run (also KRW 40,000), or a shorter 5 km race (KRW 25,000). All races are timed using chips and adhere to strict time limits of three hours for the half marathon, two hours for the 10 km event, and one hour for the 5 km run. Awards will be given based on gun times.
The top male and female finishers in both the half marathon (KRW 200,000 for first place, KRW 150,000 for second, and KRW 100,000 for third) and the 10 km race (KRW 150,000 for first, KRW 100,000 for second, and KRW 70,000 for third) will receive cash prizes. All top ten finishers in both events as well as the winners of the 5 km race will also be awarded certificates and trophies.
Participants can look forward to a range of amenities on race day including male and female changing rooms, baggage storage facilities, mobile result certificates, and official souvenirs that will be distributed before the event. Race bibs are required for entry and must match registered names; transfers or running in place of another person are strictly prohibited.
As runners cross the finish line, they can look back on a day filled with scenic routes through Mungyeong's vibrant surroundings, supported by enthusiastic locals cheering them on every step of the way.
