The 2027 Donut Time Cafe New Years 3/6 Miler & Pup Strut in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, United States, on January 1st will be your first step into the new year with a bang. This event is part of a tradition that has been growing stronger each year since its inception. Race day in Hamilton Township brings a unique blend of landscape and community energy. The run will take place on a crisp winter morning with temperatures around 1.7°C, ranging from as low as -1.9°C to a maximum of 5.4°C, creating an invigorating but comfortable atmosphere for runners. The race starts at Veterans Park in the heart of the town where the community feels alive and engaged.
With over 200 participants expected this year, the event has become more than just a run; it’s a testament to the spirit of unity and support among local residents. Participants can choose between three distances: the New Years 3 Mile Run, the 6 Mile Run, or the Pup Strut/Walk for those who prefer a shorter distance with their furry companions.
The course is characterized by its firm but slightly soft terrain, making it perfect for runners of all paces and abilities. The route starts at Veterans Park, winds through the park's paths, passing by the skate park near the covered pavilion where the Start/Finish area will be located. There are two aid stations strategically placed along the course to ensure that participants have access to water and energy gels as needed.
On race day, expect a mix of light rain and sunshine with an average wind speed around 12.6 km/h. Runners should layer their clothing according to these conditions but be prepared for some cold mornings in January. Aid stations will provide hot empanadas from I & V Delights at the finish line as well as treats for your pup courtesy of Tater Bear Treats.

Early bird registration ends on December 6th, and entry fees start at $30 for the Pup Strut and $45 each for the New Years 3 Mile Run or 6 Mile Run. Bib pickup is available from Fleet Feet Princeton on Sunday between 1 PM to 3 PM; alternatively, runners can pick up their bibs race morning starting at 9 AM at Veterans Park.
