About the Event

Welcome to the 2026 New York State Bicycle Racing Association (NYSBRA) Individual Time Trial Championships! This prestigious race will take place on August 16 at Tioga Center, NY. With consistent low fees since at least 2014, participants can enjoy affordable racing. Early registration before June is available for $27; regular rates of $32 and $37 are in effect until July and August respectively.
Eligibility for the NYSBRA Championships requires an active USA Cycling (USAC) license valid as of your BikeReg profile, along with residency within New York state. All riders are welcome, including out-of-state or international participants; however, only NY residents can compete for championship medals and jerseys.
The course is a favorite route used since 2011 at Tioga Center Central School on Rt. 17c, featuring mostly flat terrain with wide shoulders. The race starts precisely at 10:01 am sharp to ensure fair competition. Your start time will be based on your bib number; for example, if you are bib number 50, you'll begin at 10:50 am.
The course heads west from Tioga Center towards Waverly, turning around after 5km, 10km, or 20km. A backup route is available on Halsey Valley Road for last-minute contingencies. Helmets are mandatory, and sleeveless jerseys or tri-suits are allowed.
For juniors aged 9 to 14, mass-start legal bikes must be used with at least 16 spokes; aerobars and cow horns are prohibited. Paracycling athletes are also welcome, though the specific categories will be determined during the week prior to the event based on participant input.
Eddy Merckx enthusiasts can participate in a special category that encourages use of classic equipment like mass-start legal bikes with at least 16 spokes and no wheel covers.
Registration is encouraged online for early start time confirmation, though day-of registration is available but subject to availability. Helmets are required on the bike; trainers do not require them. Junior racers should prepare accordingly while paracyclists can expect flexible category offerings based on input from participants.
This event promises a thrilling experience with diverse categories and routes designed for all levels of cyclists, ensuring an exhilarating day under the Tioga sun.
