2026 Qinghai Ledu "Golden Altitude High-Plateau Wellness" Giant Journey Mountain Trail Race (2026青海乐都“黄金海拔·高原康养”巨人之旅山地越野赛)

The 2026 Qinghai Ledu "Golden Altitude·Highland Wellness" Giant Journey Mountain Trail Race is set to take place from October 17-18 at the Nanli Ruins Park in Ledu District, Haidong City, Qinghai Province. The park sits at an elevation of 2013 meters and will host three challenging race categories: a 66KM Giant Group route, a 45KM Highland Challenge section, and a 25KM Wellness Mountain Tour course.
The event is designed for serious trail runners who are ready to explore the stunning high-altitude terrain around Nanli Ruins Park. Participants can expect varied landscapes including rugged mountain trails, scenic ridges, steep ascents and descents, all set against the backdrop of historic ruins dating back over a thousand years.
For those seeking an epic adventure in challenging conditions, the 66KM Giant Group course is limited to just 200 runners this year. The route covers 66.7 kilometers with nearly 3100 meters of elevation gain and loss across its demanding profile. Starting early on October 17 at 6:00 AM, competitors have a full 20-hour window to complete the grueling journey before the race closes.
The 45KM Highland Challenge course offers an equally formidable test over 42.5 kilometers with approximately 1800 meters of elevation gain and loss. With a field size of 300 runners, this event begins at 6:30 AM on October 17th and concludes by midnight that evening.
Lastly, the Wellness Mountain Tour course provides an accessible yet scenic option for up to 500 participants over its 25KM distance. Covering just under 26 kilometers with around 1043 meters of elevation gain and loss, this route starts at 7:00 AM on October 17th and concludes by early evening the same day.
All three courses feature sections that reach up to an altitude of about 3814 meters. Given the high-altitude environment throughout the race course, participants are advised to assess their acclimatization capabilities thoroughly before committing to this event.
