Experience the Independence Day "Reach the Beach" NS Trail Gravel Race/Ride, a free event that invites participants to explore 78 miles of diverse terrain from Douglas, Massachusetts, to Blue Shutters Beach in Charlestown, Rhode Island. The race begins with a controlled rolling start for two miles before transitioning into a thrilling gravel segment starting at the Nashua & Smith Terminus. Navigating through skilledly managed trails, you'll encounter a mix of road surfaces, gravel paths, cart roads, and single-track sections that provide both challenge and beauty. For optimal performance, choose a bike with tires no wider than 2.1 inches; this will ensure smooth passage over the varied terrain. Bug repellent is recommended due to the wooded areas. Upon completion, enjoy post-race refreshments including sandwiches and cold drinks at Blue Shutters Beach. Changing facilities are available on-site for your convenience. Remember, a day beach pass is required but entry after 5 PM is free. The anticipated finish time is around 4 PM, offering ample opportunity to gather with family and friends. This event supports the "Tunnels to Towers" organization, which honors veterans and first responders, as well as the Whitin Community Center in Whitinsville, Massachusetts. Your tax-deductible donation will contribute directly to these worthy causes. Pre-registration is mandatory for this completely non-profit race; no on-site entries are allowed. For any questions or support during the event, contact Stephen at 508-341-3860 or Marcia at 508-341-9856. Visit www.t2t.org and https://www.whitincommunitycenter.com/ to make your donation today.
