Nestled within the historic boundaries of Burnaby Lake Regional Park, the 2026 Rubber Ducky 5K, 7 Mile, and Half Marathon is set for October 18th. This picturesque setting, shaped by glacial activity thousands of years ago and once home to sawmills in the late 1800s, offers runners a unique blend of natural beauty and athletic challenge. The course loops around Burnaby Lake twice, providing firm yet slightly soft trails that wind through lush greenery. Runners can expect stunning views as they navigate this scenic path, which also offers opportunities for wildlife viewing. Whether you are jogging or walking, the multi-distance option caters to runners of all levels—from casual walkers to seasoned marathon enthusiasts. Race day on October 18th promises a comfortable temperature range and low UV index conditions, making it an ideal setting for outdoor activities. Participants will start their journey at Burnaby Lake BCR at 9:00 AM. The 7 Mile and Half Marathon routes each loop around the lake twice, while the 5K route follows this scenic path in one complete loop. Upon completion of your chosen distance, you can expect to return to the same starting point. Early bird registration is available online through https://raceroster.com/events/2026/130640/2026-rubber-ducky-5k-7mile-half-marathon with special discounts for children 15 and under (CA$15 off), youth aged 16 to 19 (CA$10 off), and seniors 65 years or older (CA$10 off). Groups of five or more can save CA$5 per participant. Swag bags are included with the regular registration fee for all distances except the Yellow Bib options. Participants must arrive at Burnaby Lake BCR to pick up their bibs on race day morning, bringing a valid ID and any necessary documentation as required by event organizers. This multi-distance option is not just about physical fitness; it’s also an opportunity for community engagement and environmental stewardship. Join us this October to celebrate the beauty of Burnaby Lake Regional Park while contributing to local causes.

About Burnaby
Learn more about the host city, Burnaby.
Burnaby is a suburb of Vancouver. It was incorporated in 1892 and achieved City status in 1992. In the first 30 to 40 years after its incorporation, the growth of Burnaby was influenced by its location between expanding urban centres of Vancouver and New Westminster. It first served as a rural agricultural area supplying nearby markets. Later, it served as an important transportation corridor between Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and the Interior of the Province.
