2026 SAKOB Triple Threat — Race Series (all 3 races)
About the Event
SAKOB Presents the 2026 Triple Threat, set for June 7th, 28th, and July 12th at McAllister Park. This unique series challenges participants with three distinct rides on a single course, each teeming with varied trails that test both fitness and handling skills. The event begins promptly at 8:00 AM, offering riders the opportunity to push their limits across multiple dates. The start/finish area is conveniently located in an open field between the dog park and bike pump track within McAllister Park, ensuring a smooth transition for all competitors. Participants will compete on a challenging course measuring over 9 miles (with shorter distances available for those aged 12 and under). Each ride will be marked with clear tape, arrows, and flour to ensure safety and guide riders through the varied terrain. The trails are open to public use; therefore, participants must pass courteously, calling out "on left" or "on right." Starting times for each event will be determined by previous finish times from within the current year's series. For Race 1, age categories will dictate starting positions. First-time and day-of registration riders will join at the back of the adult preregistered field. Number plates and timing chips can be picked up as early as 7:00 AM on event days. The course route details will be revealed by late May and refreshed a week before each race, ensuring participants are well-prepared for what lies ahead. Proceeds from this series benefit San Antonio Kids on Bikes (SAKOB), a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to getting more kids on bikes. More information can be found at https://www.sakob.org/in-the-press. Registration costs vary by age group and include: - Adult Single Event: $50 - Middle School/High School Single Event: $40 - Kids 12 and Under (Kids Course): $10 Late registration fees apply if you miss the cutoff, with a $60 donation for adults and middle school/high school participants, and $30 for kids. For those looking to tackle all three rides, discounted packages are available: - Adults: $130 - Middle School/High School Participants: $110 - Kids 12 and Under (Kids Course): $30 Under-12 participants can request funding assistance by emailing [email protected] Additional raffle tickets will be awarded to all registered riders, with top three finishers in each category receiving extra chances. Only one winning ticket per participant. Mark your calendars for June 7th, 28th, and July 12th as you join the Triple Threat challenge at McAllister Park!
