Mirabeau Point Park sits on the eastern edge of Spokane Valley, surrounded by lush greenery and scenic views that are typical of the region’s landscape. The air is crisp and full of promise as you pedal through this beautiful setting. As participants gather at 8 a.m., they will be greeted with the serene beauty of Mirabeau Point Park, where trees line the paths and birdsong fills the morning air.
The event's history is rich; it has grown from a modest gathering to a major community celebration, bringing together cyclists of all ages and abilities. Over the years, thousands have participated in this ride, making it more than just an activity—it’s a tradition that strengthens bonds within the Spokane Valley community. The race supports local charities and raises awareness for causes close to home.
Moving on to the course itself, the 50-mile "Hills Around the Valley" route starts at the North Centennial Trailhead across from Mirabeau Point Park at 13500 E Mirabeau Parkway. This challenging ride loops as far north as Mead and includes several steep climbs that offer breathtaking views of the Spokane River valley. The 25-mile "Adventure Ride," which runs mostly south, also starts here but is a bit more leisurely compared to its longer counterpart. Finally, the family-friendly 10-mile route follows the Centennial Trail to the Barker Trailhead and back, providing an easy and scenic loop for riders of all ages.
The start/finish location at Mirabeau Point Park ensures that everyone has a convenient spot to begin their journey or cool down upon completion. Along the course, there will be aid stations available with water and snacks to keep participants fueled throughout the ride. The weather in July is typically mild; expect temperatures around 24°C (75°F) on race day, though it can feel cooler due to the area’s natural breeze.
