2026 St. Peters Bay Kids of Steel Triathlon

The St. Peter's Bay Blueberry Festival Kids of Steel Triathlon takes place on July 31st, offering young athletes an exciting day filled with fun and adventure amidst the picturesque setting of St. Peter's community. This event marks the second installment of KOS (Kids of Steel) for the summer season.
The triathlon begins and ends at the charming St. Peter’s Bay campground located on 5930 St. Peter's Road, Saint Peter's Bay, PE C0A 2A0. All participants will be awarded medals and snacks, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Register now for all three events in the 2026 KOS Series to enjoy a 15% discount! Save $4 per race by signing up early. The sale ends on June 30th at 5 PM; spots are limited to just 60, so sign up quickly!
The event features a pool swim followed by bike and run segments on the Confederation Trail. Race check-in starts at 8:00 AM with participants receiving their markings and numbers before heading into the transition zone where bikes and gear will be brought in.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early as race start is set for 9:00 AM, with kids leading off from the pool deck. Triathlon PEI volunteers will be on hand throughout the event to assist young athletes.
To participate, all children must be members of Triathlon PEI, Triathlon NS, Triathlon NB or Triathlon NL. Annual memberships can be purchased online at https://www.tripei.ca/membership.
Distances for various age groups are as follows:
- 4-5 years: 25 meters swim (1 length), 500 meters bike, 100 meters run
- 6-7 years: 50 meters swim (2 lengths), 1 kilometer bike, 400 meters run
- 8-9 years: 100 meters swim (4 lengths), 2 kilometers bike, 800 meters run
- 10-12 years: 200 meters swim (8 lengths), 6 kilometers bike, 1 kilometer run
Families with multiple siblings can take advantage of a family discount. Add additional participants to your registration and apply the relevant discounts:
- Two Siblings - $5 discount
- Three Siblings - $10 discount
- Four or more Siblings - $15 discount
Common questions are addressed, allowing for smooth event participation. Children under 7 can wear floaties, water wings, lifejackets, use training wheels, and ride push bikes if needed.
